The public will have an opportunity to pay their final respects to the late industrialist Ratan Tata on Thursday at the NCPA Lawns, Nariman Point, Mumbai. According to a statement from Tata Trusts, his mortal remains will be available for public viewing starting at 10:30 am, and the final journey will begin at 4 pm.

The statement further instructed the public to enter through Gate 3 and exit from Gate 2 of NCPA Lawns, noting that no parking facilities will be provided at the premises. After the viewing, the remains will be transported to the Prayer Hall at the Worli Crematorium on Dr. E Moses Road for the final rites.

Preparations for the ceremony are underway at NCPA, with police cordoning off Marine Drive road beyond the Oberoi Hotel to manage traffic around the area.

Ratan Tata, Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, passed away on Wednesday at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai at the age of 86.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the final rites on behalf of the Government of India.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde confirmed that Tata’s last rites will be performed with full state honours. The state government has also declared a day of mourning, during which the national flag will be flown at half-mast on all government buildings, and no cultural or entertainment events will be held.
