The action thriller ‘Animal,’ starring Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor, has surpassed the Rs 200 crore mark in India just four days after its release. As of Monday, the Hindi version of the film had grossed an impressive Rs 216.64 crore in net collections.
Taran Adarsh, a trade analyst, praised the film’s exceptional performance, calling it a blockbuster. Within the same timeframe, the film’s earnings in all languages—Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam—amounted to Rs 246.23 crore net in India.
Adarsh highlighted the film’s uninterrupted success, indicating that ‘Animal’ is likely to maintain its dominant streak until the arrival of major Christmas releases. He predicted that 2023 would be a milestone year for Hindi cinema, with three films expected to surpass Rs 500 crore in net box office collections: ‘Pathaan’, ‘Gadar 2’, and ‘Jawan’. He also anticipated ‘Animal’ to potentially join this exclusive club owing to its momentum.
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film also stars Rashmika Mandana, Shakti Kapoor, and Triptii Dimri. It primarily revolves around a father-son relationship portrayed by Anil and Ranbir Kapoor. Ranbir’s character exhibits protectiveness and obsession towards his father, resorting to threats against anyone who obstructs his affection.
The 3-hour, 21-minute film has been released in five languages—Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam—contributing to its massive success at the box office.
