Referencing expelled Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam’s controversial statement aimed at the Congress party and its ally, the Samajwadi Party (SP), Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that they would demolish the Ram Temple in Ayodhya if they were to win in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing a rally in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, ahead of the fifth phase of polling for the 18th Lok Sabha on May 20, PM Modi stated, “If the Congress, SP, and their INDIA partners come to power, our Ram Lalla would have to return to the tent again as they would run a bulldozer over the Ram Mandir. They should take lessons from Yogi-ji (Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath) on where to run bulldozers and where not to.”

In an interview with ANI earlier, Acharya Krishnam made a startling claim, alleging that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had strategized to overturn the landmark judgment, resolving the decades-old title dispute and facilitating the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Further intensifying his criticism of the Congress-SP coalition in the state, PM Modi remarked, “The Congress and the Samajwadi Party have become slaves to appeasement politics. And, when Modi uncovers the truth before the people, they accuse me of creating a Hindu-Muslim divide.” Confident in the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) prospects of securing a third consecutive victory and returning to power at the Centre, PM Modi asserted, “June 4 (counting day) is not too far away now. All doubts will be cleared, and the entire country and the world will witness when we secure a hat-trick of wins and return for a third term at the Centre.”

Expressing enthusiasm for the support and electoral backing from women voters, he highlighted that half of the country’s population has been supportive of the BJP since the abolition of the Triple Talaq. “The vote bank of these INDI parties is also realizing the truth now. Our (Muslim) mothers and sisters are pleased with the abolition of the Triple Talaq and are supporting us,” PM Modi remarked.

Encouraging people to vote overwhelmingly for the BJP and its NDA allies for the development of their respective constituencies in the state, PM Modi emphasized, “You deserve MPs who advocate for your concerns in the Parliament and strive to improve your lives. We need MPs who will earnestly work to develop the constituencies they represent and not waste their five-year term criticizing Modi. And the only way to ensure that is to vote for Lotus (the BJP’s electoral symbol).” “Can you achieve the speed of a 1,000 CC bike with a 100 CC engine? If you want rapid development, vote for a strong and decisive government. Only the BJP can deliver such a government,” PM Modi concluded. Later in the day, he would address a public rally at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park.
