After Randeep Singh Surjewala, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday sought clarification from Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on the video of Kumar Vishwas.
Addressing a rally at Bassi Pathana, Rahul said: “A person who can sleep in a home of terrorist, could do anything.” He was referring to the 2017 incident, when Kejriwal was found to be staying in the house of Khalistan Liberation Front activist Gurwinder Singh in Moga.
Rahul said that the video of former AAP leader Kumar Vishwas, where he accused Kejriwal of supporting separatists in Punjab, went viral across the country. “Kejriwal is not uttering a single word about the allegation made by Kumar Vishwas. Kejriwal should tell whether Kumar Vishwas is telling the truth. Kejriwal is not answering because the founder of the Aam Aadmi Party is telling the truth.”
Rahul said: “Peace and brotherhood are necessary for Punjab. If peace is disturbed here, unemployment will increase and there will be a financial crisis. The Congress government is necessary for peace in the state. The day peace is lost here, not only Punjab but the whole country will suffer.”
The Congress leader also attacked Kejriwal for apologising to former Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia in 2018 for leveling allegations against his involvement in drug trade in Punjab.
Commenting on Captain Amarinder Singh, Rahul said: When he (Captain) was the CM, I had asked him why electricity bills could not be reduced in Punjab. On this, Captain said that the price of electricity cannot be reduced as a memorandum of understanding has been made for it.”
Heaping praise on Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, Rahul said: “When Channi became the CM, we again told him the same thing. Channi immediately waived off electricity bills of Rs 1500 crore of the poor and reduced the prices. Channi reduced the prices of petrol and diesel too. Channi is a dynamic leader. For the first time, a poor person will take Punjab forward.”
The Congress leaders released a video of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh talking in favour of CM Charanjit Singh Channi and asking for votes for him.
