THANE : An official from Maharashtra’s Thane district’s public works department (PWD) was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly seeking a 15,000 bribe from a contractor to release his payment. Vishal Gosavi (34), a junior clerk with the PWD (Tribal), faces charges under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The complaint states that the department owed the contractor 5.79 lakh, and the accused official demanded 5,000 for the audit officer and 10,000 for issuing a work order.
