The Chief Minister of Delhi and national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Arvind Kejriwal, praised the Punjab government for taking stringent measures to curb criminal activities in the state. Kejriwal made these remarks following a major crackdown by the Punjab Police against a radical preacher and members of his outfit, ‘Waris Punjab De’.
Kejriwal said that when the AAP came to power in Punjab, people doubted their ability to handle law and order, but his government has shown that they are ready to take strict action against criminal elements. He stated that the previous governments provided political protection to criminals and gangsters, but the AAP government is honest and taking strict action against them.
The recent actions taken by the Punjab government have shown that the AAP is a patriotic party that is committed to maintaining law and order and peace in the state, Kejriwal said. He congratulated the Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, for the crackdown and thanked the people for their support.
The AAP government in Punjab has been taking actions against drug mafias and gangsters, and they have proved that if the intentions are good and the government is honest, law and order can be maintained, Kejriwal added. Police in Punjab launched a massive manhunt against the radical preacher and his outfit on Saturday, but he escaped their dragnet. Mann, in his reaction to the police action, said that he received several calls from people praising his government, and they will continue to support the government in maintaining peace and harmony in Punjab.
Kejriwal emphasized that the AAP is a patriotic party that loves Bharat Mata (mother India) and anyone doing anything against the country will not be spared. He said that the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government has proved that it is ready to take strict action in the national interest if the need arises.
