Punjab Minister for Tourism and Cultural Affairs, , Anmol Gagan Mann, reiterated the commitment of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s government to channelize the positive energy of Punjab youth by promoting a sports culture among them.
During the inauguration of a sports complex at Palhedi Village in the Kharar Constituency, she expressed that these playgrounds would prove to be a boon for the younger generation, instilling a sports culture in them. The sports complex features a cricket pitch, volleyball ground, and a walking track for morning walkers to cater to the needs of all residents. She urged the Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO) to establish an open gym to enable people to exercise during their leisure time.
The projects dedicated to the villagers included a playground adjacent to a park worth Rs 27 lakh, Thapar Model Sewer Water disposal system costing Rs 19 lakh, streets amounting to Rs 17 lakh, and a small park with a cost of Rs 7 lakh. Minister Mann assured the villagers to fulfill all pending demands, including addressing the missing link in the main road, soon.
Anmol Gagan Mann highlighted the immense potential of the New Chandigarh area for eco-tourism. As the Investment Promotion Minister, she expressed pride in announcing that investment policies framed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann have paved the way for significant projects like a theme park in the region.
Addressing the rejection of Punjab Tableaus for the National Republic Day Parade by the Central Government, she expressed her pain, stating that the tableaus depicting the nation’s heroes, Sardar Bhagat Singh and Kartar Singh Sarabha, were not considered for the Republic Day Parade.
Prominent individuals present at the event included SDM Kharar Gurmandar Singh, Sarpanch Kulwinder Singh, and other members of the village Panchayat, along with Rural Development and Panchayat Officials.
