Chandigarh: The Department of Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities has announced that applications are open until August 19, 2024, for the recruitment of Non-Official Members for the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission.

Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur revealed that the government aims to appoint five Non-Official Members, including one woman, to the State Scheduled Castes Commission. These appointments are crucial for the effective implementation of welfare schemes for the Scheduled Castes, ensuring that the beneficiaries receive the full advantages of these programs.

Dr. Baljit Kaur emphasized that applicants should be individuals of ability, integrity, and standing, with a history of serving the welfare and upliftment of Scheduled Castes. Candidates should not be over 65 years of age to qualify for the post.

Interested candidates can submit their applications to the office of the Director, Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities Department at SCO No:7, Phase-1, SAS Nagar, Mohali, by August 19, 2024. Dr. Kaur also noted that those who applied in response to the advertisements dated August 29, 2023, and October 21, 2023, must reapply, as previous applications will not be considered. Applications received after the specified date or those that are incomplete will not be considered.
