The Punjab government has released a sum of Rs 33.65 crores for the supply of nutritious food through Anganwadi centers. Dr. Baljit Kaur, Minister of Social Security, Women and Child Development, stated that essential items provided to beneficiaries at the state’s Anganwadi centers are being supplied by Markfed. The supply, carried out under the Supplementary Nutrition Program, has undergone reimbursement for the ongoing financial year.
During this announcement, she instructed the concerned district program officers to utilize the funds in accordance with government regulations. The allocated funds are as follows: Amritsar Rs 4.17 crores, Barnala Rs 65.94 lakhs, Bathinda Rs 2.28 crores, Ferozepur Rs 40.22 lakhs, Fazilka Rs 4.35 crores and Rs 5.99 lakhs (cooking cost), Ferozepur Rs 4 crores and Rs 4.69 lakhs (cooking cost), Gurdaspur Rs 1.56 crores, Hoshiarpur Rs 5 crores, Jalandhar Rs 2.51 crores, Ludhiana Rs 97.48 lakhs, Mansa Rs 97.33 lakhs, Moga Rs 50 lakhs, Ropar Rs 92 lakhs, Sangrur Rs 3.07 crores, and Kapurthala Rs 2.14 crores.
