Nine persons were swept away by flash floods in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur on Sunday. The deceased belonged to Una district in Himachal Pradesh and were on their way to a marriage when disaster struck. As the car approaching the road in Gadshankar’s Joija, strong floodwaters overtook the vehicle and whirled it away. While one person was saved by rescue teams, bodies of nine other persons were retrieved subsequently.
