The BJP and JJP, in their latest budget, have failed to fulfill the promises made to secure power, particularly the absence of the pledged Rs 5100 pension for the elderly, disabled, and widows. The budget is criticized for its lack of substantial initiatives, appearing to be nothing more than a manipulation of figures. The people of the state have expressed their dissatisfaction, considering this budget as the final one for the BJP-JJP coalition government.

According to state spokesperson Surendra Rathi, the JJP’s commitment to raise social security pension to Rs 5100 has not materialized, and leaders are reluctant to advocate for it, fearing political repercussions. The Chief Minister’s failure to announce the pension increase in the budget reflects this predicament.

The Chirayu-Ayushman Yojana, aimed at increasing beneficiaries, has raised concerns as it seemingly offers free health services in private hospitals but charges Rs 1500 to Rs 5000 annually based on income. Rathi emphasized challenges faced by individuals treated under this scheme, with private hospitals warning of treatment discontinuation due to government non-payment.

Regarding transportation, despite the public demand to expand government bus services and improve bus stands, the budget for the transport department saw a reduction of Rs 138 crore. Rathi noted the government’s inclination towards privatizing Haryana Roadways.

Education, a crucial sector, has not been prioritized, with no provision for national-level institutes or higher education institutions in the budget. The education budget itself witnessed a 0.3% cut, indicating a lack of seriousness from the coalition government in addressing educational needs within the state.
