The Pakistan-Tehreek-e-Insaf party has strongly condemned the “state terrorism” attack on PTI chairman Imran Khan’s home, which the party claimed was part of a “London Plan to eliminate him,” reported Dawn.
As Khan was leaving Zaman Park in Lahore to appear before a judge in Islamabad on Saturday, a large police contingent began searching his home.
According to a report by Dawn, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry stated during a press conference at the party’s office that the operation was part of a plan devised by PML-N main organizer Maryam Nawaz Sharif to arrest Khan.
He referred the press conference of Sharif which was held on Friday wherein she declared that the former PM of Pakistan should be arrested. A statement of Chaudhry reads, “A woman, who has never even contested a councillor’s election, is setting the government’s agenda.”
He furthermore claimed that the operation violated the court’s orders and contributed to nationwide anarchy because PTI workers urged the leadership to call for nationwide rallies. He even urged his followers to be prepare for the decisive conflict and to wait for Khan’s orders before starting protests.
According to the statement given by him, party leaders were travelling to Islamabad with former PM, but they turned around halfway due to “cowardly attack” news.
