Congress’ UP in charge Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday hit out at the BJP for trying to destabilise the Maharashtra government amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Priyanka said that at this time of crisis people in politics even if they belong to different ideologies should come together and help those who need it the most.

Priyanka also extended support to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, who is currently running a coalition government in the state with the support of the Congress and the NCP. “Instead of providing help to the Maharashtra government, you (BJP) people are working against it to destabilise it,” she said. This statement by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra assumes a lot of significance especially after Rahul Gandhi’s recent statement about how the Congress was just supporting the government in Maharashtra.

“The Congress is part of Maha Vikas Aghadi and holds key ministries but we are only supporting the government and are not a key player in the state… There is a difference between running a government and supporting it,” Rahul had said.
