High Court, private schools have accepted admission under the RTE (Right to Education) quota but are continuing with arbitrary practices.

The admission process for entry class is ongoing in private schools. As per the directives of the Education Department, schools are required to make public the information about the children applying for admission, draw date, and subsequently the information about children gaining admission or being on the waiting list on the school’s website.

Despite the department’s instructions, many school websites are not functioning, causing difficulty for parents to obtain admission-related information. In this manner, several schools are issuing separate dates and times for the draw, but parents arriving at the specified time are being told that the draw process has already been completed. Four convent schools had scheduled different dates for the draw process for admissions for the first time.

One school had set the time for the draw process at 10 am on January 21, but parents arriving at the school on Sunday were informed that the draw process had already taken place on the 20th.
