Today, after a decade, the Department of Education in Punjab held a meeting of the departmental promotion committee for the positions of District Education Officer (DEO) and Assistant Director. In this meeting, 44 principals were promoted to the position of DEO, and 13 principals were promoted to the position of Assistant Director in the School Education Department.

Providing additional information on this matter, the department’s spokesperson stated that the promotions were carried out in accordance with the directions of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and Education Minister Harjot Bains to expedite the process of promotions in the Education Department. The Departmental Promotion Committee initiated the process of promotions by elevating principals, DEOs, and Assistant Directors, as per the orders issued. The committee, led by Secretary K.K. Yadav of the School Education Department, played a crucial role in this. The spokesperson mentioned that the names approved for promotion by the Departmental Promotion Committee have been officially endorsed by the Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains. Bains has instructed department officials to expedite the promotions of eligible employees at every level within the department.
