Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have expressed their support for Kate Middleton, their estranged sister-in-law, following her cancer diagnosis. The Duchess of Cambridge has finally addressed her health concerns, bringing an end to speculation and conspiracy theories. The official statement from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex was released just an hour after Kate shared a rare video message on her and Prince William’s official social media accounts on March 22nd.

“We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace,” read the official statement from Harry and Meghan sent to NBC. Despite their longstanding issues, it appears that the estranged in-laws are making efforts to reconcile in light of Kate’s illness.

PR expert Ryan McCormick believes that Harry and Meghan’s supportive message, although brief, was respectful and filled with positivity. He stated to the Mirror, “The speed for which it came out is positive.” He suggested that the royal feud might soon come to an end, adding, “The gravity of this situation may be so large that it could melt away long-held grievances. Yes, Meghan and Harry have their faults but, family is family. Their feud could very well end immediately.”

In January, Kate Middleton underwent planned abdominal surgery, which prompted her withdrawal from the public eye. Social media was soon rife with conspiracy theories speculating issues within the royal palace. Finally, on March 22, the princess addressed her situation in a video shared publicly. She stated, “It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful.”

Kate revealed in her statement that although her surgery in January was initially thought to be for a non-cancerous condition, subsequent tests confirmed the presence of cancer. She disclosed that her medical team recommended preventive chemotherapy, which she has since begun.

Kate also shared that dealing with the situation privately, especially in terms of explaining it to her children – George, Charlotte, and Louis, took time. She emphasized her ongoing recovery and strength, highlighting the support from her husband William and the surrounding community.

In conclusion, Kate expressed solidarity with all those affected by cancer, urging them not to lose hope. She reassured them that they are not alone in their struggle.
