In JP Nagar, Bengaluru a pressure cooker explosion claimed the life of one person and injured another. The blast, which occurred around 10 am near an Udupi Upahara restaurant outlet, was initially alarming but has since been ruled out as a terrorist act by police.

The explosion resulted from a pressure cooker malfunction, leading to significant damage in the surrounding area. Two men, both barbers from Uttar Pradesh, were injured in the blast. Despite receiving medical attention, one of the men succumbed to his injuries.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayananda confirmed that the incident was purely accidental, with no signs of explosives or foul play. “We have thoroughly investigated and found no evidence of terrorism. It was a pressure cooker blast. NIA officials are here to assist in the investigation,” a senior police official stated.

A team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has been dispatched to Bengaluru to collaborate with local authorities in examining the scene and understanding the circumstances that led to the explosion.

This incident comes months after a low-intensity IED blast at The Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru, which injured 10 people. As investigations continue, further details are expected to emerge.
