On the occasion of ‘Ambedkar Jayanti’ in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Dr. BR Ambedkar at Parliament House lawn on Friday.
On the occasion, President Droupadi Murmu also presented a garland to the key architect of India’s Constitution. PM Modi stated on Twitter, “On his birth anniversary, hundreds of salutes to Pujya Babasaheb, who dedicated his life to the empowerment of the deprived and exploited sections of society. Salute to Bheem!”. President Droupadi Murmu extended her greetings on the 132nd birth anniversary of the Dalit icon and father of the Constitution, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, on Friday.
“I extend my heartiest greetings and best wishes to all fellow citizens on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of the architect of our Constitution, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar,” Murmu said on Twitter. On the occasion, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tribute to Babasaheb Ambedkar. “On the occasion of his birth anniversary, pay tribute to Babasaheb Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution who ensured justice and rights to the last person in the country. He dedicated his life to the welfare of the underprivileged, foregoing all comforts and amenities. His ideas and ideals will continue to guide us “Shah stated this in a tweet. Meanwhile, Mayawati, the leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), paid tribute to Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar in Lucknow.
Ambedkar, who was born on April 14, 1891, was an Indian jurist, economist, politician, and social reformer who advocated for women’s and workers’ rights. He passed away on December 6, 1956.
Ambedkar was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour, in 1990.
