President Droupadi Murmu arrives in Shimla on four-day visit

On Tuesday, President Droupadi Murmu arrived on a 4-day visit to Shimla.
Droupadi Murmu was accorded a guard of honour after she landed at the Kalyani Helipad in Chharabra. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu greeted her.

Kuldeep Singh Pathania, speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Rohit Thakur, minister-in-waiting for President Droupadi Murmu’s visit, Lt. General J. S. Sandhu, of the Army Training Command, Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, DGP Sanjay Kundu, Secretary General Administration, Bharat Khera, and other senior state officials were occasionally present.

Four day’s programme as scheduled as:-

1. She will inaugurate a tulip garden at Mashobra.
2. Later that evening, she will attend a civic reception to be hosted in her honour by the government of Himachal Pradesh.
3. On 19 April, the president will interact with officer trainees of the Indian Audit and Accounts Services at the National Academy of Audit and Accounts, Shimla.
4. She will also attend the 26th convocation of Himachal Pradesh University at Shimla.
5. On 20 April, the president will visit the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, and later she will host an ‘At Home’ reception at the Rashtrapati Niwas. As per the statement released by Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Rashtrapati Niwas will be opened for public viewing on the same day.
