‘We Will Resolve Farmers’ Issues, Congress Misleading Public’: UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya

Amid the ongoing farmers’ protest march towards Delhi, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya defended the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) track record on addressing farmers’ issues. Speaking on Monday, Maurya accused the Congress of instigating unrest under the guise of a farmers’ protest.

“BJP’s double-engine government respects the farmers. We have always resolved their issues and will continue to do so,” Maurya said. He emphasized the BJP’s commitment to the welfare of farmers and reaffirmed support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

“In the name of farmers’ protest, this is being done by the Congress. However, the public and farmers are smart enough and they are with BJP, PM Modi, and CM Yogi Adityanath,” he added.

Maurya assured farmers that the government would listen to their grievances and work on resolving them promptly. “We will listen to the issues of farmers and resolve them,” he reiterated.

The statement comes as thousands of farmers mobilize towards the national capital, demanding solutions to issues such as minimum support prices and agricultural reforms. Maurya’s comments reflect BJP’s efforts to position itself as a pro-farmer government while countering opposition narratives around the protests.
