Samosas Gone Wrong: CID Orders Probe into CM’s Snack Slip-Up

The Himachal Pradesh government ordered a CID investigation into an unusual incident. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu visited the CID headquarters on October 21. Snacks like samosas and cakes meant for him were mistakenly served to his security staff instead.

Officials believe this mix-up was not accidental; rather, they described it as an “anti-government agenda,” considering both the timing and context of the incident.

Event Details and Enquiry Findings

To begin with, Hotel Radisson Blu prepared snack boxes for the CM’s visit. However, instead of reaching the Chief Minister, these refreshments went to his security team. Following the incident, a senior official conducted an enquiry that confirmed the mistake, which ultimately led to the CID probe.

Opposition Criticizes Government’s Priorities

Meanwhile, the incident drew strong reactions from the BJP. Criticizing the decision to order a CID probe, BJP chief spokesperson Randhir Sharma commented, “The government is not concerned about the development of the state. Its only concern seems to be the Chief Minister’s Samosa.” Furthermore, Sharma mentioned that the incident had embarrassed the government, raising questions about coordination in programs involving VVIPs like the Chief Minister.
