Rahul Gandhi Vows Monthly Rs 8,500 Transfer To Women At MP Rally to Elevate Them To ‘Lakhpati’

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi emphasized the importance of the ongoing Lok Sabha election as a battle to safeguard the country’s Constitution. Addressing a public gathering in Jobat town, Alirajpur district, within the Ratlam-Jhabua Lok Sabha constituency in Madhya Pradesh, Rahul accused the BJP and RSS of seeking to alter the Constitution.

He asserted that if his party and the I.N.D.I.A alliance are voted into power, they will work towards removing the 50 per cent cap on reservation, aiming to better serve the interests of the people. Additionally, Gandhi reiterated his support for conducting a caste census, believing it would provide comprehensive insights into the societal status of individuals and have a transformative effect on the country’s political landscape.

The former Congress president’s remarks underscored a stark contrast between his party’s vision of preserving the Constitution and the alleged intentions of the BJP and RSS to amend it. According to news agency PTI, Gandhi reiterated that the BJP and RSS aim to change the Constitution, while the Congress and its allies are committed to safeguarding it. This statement encapsulates the essence of the ongoing electoral battle, portraying it as a struggle to protect the foundational principles of India’s democracy against perceived threats of alteration.

Continuing his critique of the ruling party, Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP of harboring intentions to alter the Constitution, citing their ambitious slogan of “400-paar” (aiming for over 400 Lok Sabha seats for the NDA).

In response, the Congress leader announced the launch of the ‘Pehli Naukri Pakki’ scheme, designed to empower youth by offering them one-year apprenticeships in companies, followed by guaranteed employment opportunities. Participants in this initiative will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 8,500 during the training period, totaling Rs 1 lakh over the course of a year.

Additionally, Rahul Gandhi outlined the Congress’s plan to bolster financial support for women, proposing a monthly transfer of Rs 8,500 into their accounts to elevate them to the status of “lakhpati.” These announcements were made as part of the Congress’s electoral campaign ahead of the polling in the tribal-dominated Ratlam-Jhabua constituency, where former Union minister Kantilal Bhuria, representing the Congress, will contest against BJP’s Anita Nagar Chauhan.
