Jharkhand Elections: Shah Pledges to Remove Infiltrators, Return Encroached Tribal Land in Jharkhand

Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) government, accusing it of corruption and failure to implement central schemes. Shah, while addressing an election campaign in Giridih, promised that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power, it would take strict action against infiltrators and bring a law to return encroached land to the tribal community.

“Hemant Soren’s government is riddled with corruption and has blocked the implementation of PM Modi’s schemes. We will develop industries in Jharkhand, so laborers won’t need to migrate to other states for work,” Shah stated.

BJP Promises Law to Protect Tribal Land

Amit Shah accused infiltrators of exploiting local tribal women by marrying them and seizing their land. He promised that the BJP would enact legislation to ensure that such encroached lands are returned to the tribal owners.

“Infiltrators marry innocent tribal women multiple times and encroach on their lands. We will drive these infiltrators out of Jharkhand and pass a law to restore the encroached lands to the tribals,” Shah declared.

Shah criticized Rahul Gandhi, alleging that the Congress party aimed to restore Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir. He asserted that the BJP had secured Kashmir’s integration with India, highlighting the Modi government’s surgical and air strikes against Pakistan-backed terrorists.

“Four generations of Rahul Gandhi cannot bring back Article 370. Kashmir is an integral part of India. Under Congress, Pakistan-backed terrorists attacked daily. PM Modi’s government eliminated Naxalism from Jharkhand, and we aim to end it in Chhattisgarh by March 31, 2026,” Shah claimed.

Shah Vows Amendment to Waqf Bill Amid Opposition

The Home Minister pledged that the NDA government would amend the Waqf Bill despite opposition from Congress and JMM. He criticized the declaration of various properties as Waqf land, including historical temples and farmers’ lands in Karnataka.

“In Karnataka, the Waqf Board declared centuries-old temples and farmers’ lands as Waqf property. We will bring an amendment to the Waqf Bill despite Rahul Gandhi and Hemant Soren’s opposition,” Shah asserted.

The statements come amid the ongoing assembly elections in Jharkhand, with polling completed for the first phase. Shah claimed that the JMM-Congress alliance had been “wiped out” in the initial phase. Voting for the remaining 38 seats is scheduled for November 20, with the counting of votes set for November 23.

Shah’s comments and promises are part of the BJP’s broader campaign strategy, focusing on issues like tribal rights, national security, and economic development, as the party seeks to gain a majority in the Jharkhand Assembly elections.
