BJP’s Uttarakhand In-Charge Dushyant Gautam Acknowledges Party Workers’ Role In Winning 5 Lok Sabha Seats

Dushyant Gautam, BJP’s Uttarakhand in-charge, emphasized the pivotal role of party workers in securing victories across five Lok Sabha seats in the state. The Uttarakhand BJP unit organized a program to honor these workers for their significant contributions to the electoral success.

“BJP workers worked very hard and played a very big role in the BJP’s victory in five Lok Sabha seats. The meeting is being held to thank them and apprise them about the coming events,” Gautam stated.

He also noted that the meeting aimed to discuss the upcoming by-elections in the state.

The BJP clinched victories in all five Lok Sabha constituencies—Tehri, Haridwar, Nainital, and Almora—for the third consecutive time. The party has previously swept the state in the 2014 and 2019 general elections.

The winning margins in all seats exceeded 1.5 lakh votes, with the largest margin of 3.3 lakh votes recorded in the Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar constituency, where incumbent MP Ajay Bhatt received 7.7 lakh votes compared to Congress candidate Prakash Joshi’s 4.3 lakh votes.

Former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, contesting for BJP, secured victory in the Haridwar Lok Sabha seat, defeating Congress’s Virendra Rawat by 164,056 votes. Rawat garnered 653,808 votes, while his nearest competitor from Congress received 479,752 votes. Independent candidate Umesh Kumar Patrakar received 91,188 votes.

Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah, BJP candidate from Tehri, achieved her fourth consecutive win from the constituency, surpassing Congress’s Jot Singh Gunsola by a margin of 2.7 lakh votes.

Polling for all five seats was conducted in a single phase on April 19, according to Election Commission of India data.
