A day after the exit polls gave the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) a clear and decisive victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Arvind Kejriwal, dismissed these polls as fake. He claimed that the elections were part of a larger plan to destabilize his party and influence AAP leaders.
In a post on X, Kejriwal strongly condemned the exit poll results, saying they are being used as a tool to manipulate public perception and weaken AAP’s momentum.
Arvind Kejriwal alleges of Poaching AAP Leaders.
Arvind Kejriwal also accused BJP of trying to poach AAP candidates by offering lucrative deals. He wrote, “Some agencies are showing that the ‘Gali Galauj Party’ is winning more than 55 seats. In the last two hours, 16 of our candidates have received calls saying, ‘Leave your party and join theirs, we’ll make you ministers and give each of you Rs 15-15 crores.’ If they are indeed winning more than 55 seats, then why are they calling our candidates?
In other words, “The exit polls are manufactured ones to create a false sense of BJP’s sweeping victory and woo away AAP workers,” said Delhi CM.
“So, obviously these fake surveys are being conducted simply to create the atmosphere and break a few of our candidates. But, Gali Galauj walon, not even one of my people will break,” he said.
AAP Leader Mukesh Ahlawat Alleges Poaching Attempt
AAP leader Mukesh Ahlawat also backed the claims, saying that he too had received a similar call. Posting a screenshot of the number of the caller, Ahlawat wrote on X, “I received a call from this number. He said that their government is being formed, they will make me a minister and also give 15 crores. ‘Leave AAP and come with us.’
Reaffirming his loyalty to AAP, Ahlawat added, “I want to tell them that the respect that Kejriwal ji and the ‘AAP’ party have given me, I will not leave my party until my last breath.”
Exit Polls Predict BJP’s Massive Win
Several exit polls have predicted a strong and confident victory for the BJP, which has seen a historic struggle to win power in Delhi. Axis My India projected that 45-55 out of the 70 elected seats in the Delhi Assembly would go to the BJP, while AAP, which used to have a stronghold in the capital, is likely to take as few as 15-25 seats. The Congress party is estimated to perform poorly at 0-1 seat in the counting.
AAP Alleges ‘Operation Lotus’ in Delhi
After Kejriwal, AAP MP Sanjay Singh was also quick to dismiss the poll results. Citing “Operation Lotus” done by the BJP in Delhi a term often describing alleged attempts to induce opposition to defect, the ruling party to the AAP alleged that the BJP was offering hefty amounts of money and other incentives, trying to get AAP leaders onboard to break AAP and pave smooth way for governance.
As election results are near, the political battle in Delhi is intensifying, with AAP standing firm against the exit poll predictions and BJP’s alleged poaching tactics. The final verdict will soon determine if the surveys hold or if Kejriwal’s claims of a rigged narrative prove true.
