The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has unveiled its Screening Committees for the forthcoming local body elections in Punjab, appointing key ministers to oversee candidate selection across various constituencies.
The assignments are as follows:
- Amritsar: Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal
- Balachaur: Lal Chand Kataruchakk
- Bagha Purana: Harjot Singh Bains
- Baba Bakala: Laljit Singh Bhullar
- Patiala: Barinder Kumar Goyal
- Jalandhar: Harbhajan Singh ETO
These committees are tasked with meticulously screening and selecting candidates to represent AAP in the upcoming elections.
The local body elections are scheduled for December 21, encompassing five municipal corporations and 44 municipal councils and nagar panchayats across Punjab. This electoral process is pivotal for AAP as it seeks to solidify its influence in the state’s urban governance structures.
