Late at night, the police conducted a raid at Hotel Palam House located in Kishangarh, Chandigarh. During the raid, the police arrested the hotel manager and staff on charges of involvement in human trafficking. Cases have been registered against the hotel owner Anil Kumar, hotel manager Vivek Mishra, and caretaker Sat Prakash.
Under the supervision of DSP P. Abhinandan and SDPO Northern, a team of inspectors/SHOs including Inspector Jaspal Singh and other police officers conducted the raid by sending undercover agents to the hotel. The police raid created a stir at the hotel. People claimed that this illegal business was running with the connivance of the local police, who allegedly turned a blind eye to complaints. However, no action was taken even after complaints were lodged with the local police. Locals expressed gratitude to the new DGP for taking up the matter.
This action was taken on the orders of the new DGP Surendra Yadav. It was found that the hotel was involved in human trafficking and gambling activities. A case was filed against the hotel operator. The DGP had received confidential information that open human trafficking and gambling were taking place at Hotel Palam located in Kishangarh village. This illicit business was also prevalent in the jurisdiction of the IT Park Police Station.
