The Welfare Wing of the Police Department is actively working to provide employment and improve the lives of police officers’ children. A list of 452 children has been compiled. Based on their interests, 134 youths are undergoing training in various courses, while work is being carried out to secure employment for 318 children based on their educational qualifications. Additionally, Haryana Police will bear the training expenses for children of Class IV contract police officers.
Providing details on this initiative, Director General of Police Shatrujeet Kapur said that 134 children of police personnel in the state are currently undergoing training by enrolling in two distinct courses. The driving training program, designed for a one-month duration, will continue to be conducted based on the applications received. This program provides high-level training for heavy and light vehicle driving through two separate modules. All trained drivers will be in uniform and verified by Haryana Police, and coordination is underway with various institutions to secure employment for them upon programme completion.
IG Welfare Rajeev Deswal provided detailed insights into the progress of various training programs. Under the driver training program, 43 youths are currently undergoing training, with 13 having completed the course. In the security guard training program, 25 youths have completed the course, and 31 others are currently undergoing training. Furthermore, a computer course, in collaboration with Hartron, is being offered to 60 youths, while 318 youths with various diplomas and degrees are being actively connected with companies and institutions for job opportunities.
To alleviate the financial burden on Class IV contract policemen, Haryana Police has undertaken the responsibility of covering the training costs for their children. Meanwhile, other youths are benefiting from a no-interest loan facility for their training. As part of the broader plan, the establishment of a creche and the introduction of an e-library are in progress, with the latter already inaugurated in the Sonipat district and expansion plans for other districts underway.
