In a significant action against drug trafficking, the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday attached the property of Mohammad Ashraf Dar, a known drug trafficker, in the Anantnag district of south Kashmir. The move was carried out under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
According to the police, Mohammad Ashraf Dar, son of Jalal-ud-Din and a resident of Tulkhan Bijbehara, has a long criminal history involving the trafficking of illegal substances, including Codeine Phosphate, Charas, and Spasmo Proxyvan Plus. Authorities stated that Dar has previously faced multiple offenses under the NDPS Act for his involvement in smuggling and distribution of these narcotic substances.
The police action is seen as part of ongoing efforts to curb drug-related crimes and dismantle the networks operating in the region.
