Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to Indian tribal activist Bhagwan Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary at the Bhagwan Birsa Munda Memorial Park and Freedom Fighter Museum in Ranchi. Accompanied by Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda, and Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan, the Prime Minister visited the memorial, marking the visionary leader’s role in India’s freedom movement.

In his message on Tribal Pride Day, PM Modi expressed respectful tribute to Lord Birsa Munda, acknowledging his contributions. The Union Cabinet declared November 15 as ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas’ in honour of Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s legacy.

PM Modi also paid floral tributes to Birsa Munda’s monument at Ulihatu Village, his birthplace. The Prime Minister took part in a session commemorating the third Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas at Khunti, where he launched the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ and the Pradhan Mantri Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) Mission.

During the event, PM Modi released the 15th instalment of PM-KISAN and inaugurated multiple development projects in Jharkhand. The launch of the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ aligns with PM Modi’s commitment to achieving the saturation of government flagship schemes, ensuring timely benefits for all targeted beneficiaries.
