Prime Minister Narendra Modi changed his profile picture on his social media handles to ‘Tiranga’ on Tuesday.

Taking to Twitter PM Modi tweeted, “It is a special 2nd August today! At a time when we are marking Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, our nation is all set for #HarGharTiranga, a collective movement to celebrate our Tricolour. I have changed the DP on my social media pages and urge you all to do the same.”

Ahead of Independence Day celebrations in the country, he urged people to be a part of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ movement

Addressing the 91st edition of Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi said, “My dear countrymen, today we started our discussion on 75 years of Independence, with a visit across the country. The next time we meet, the journey of our next 25 years would have already begun. We all have to join for our beloved tricolor to be hoisted to our homes and those of our loved ones. Do share with me how you celebrated Independence Day and if you did anything special, this time. Next time, we will talk again about the different colors of our Amrit Parv. Till then, I take leave of you. Thank you very much.”

To mark the 75th year of India’s Independence ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign is launched to encourage people.

“August 2 is the birth anniversary of Pingali Venkhaiya who designed the National Flag. I urged all to use ‘tiranga’ as profile picture in social media accounts between August 2 and August 15,” PM said.

The official journey of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav commenced on March 12, 2021. It is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of Independence. It will end post a year on August 15, 2021.
