In an exclusive interview to India News host Pradeep Bhandari, Actor and Filmmaker R Madhavan revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi watched most of the last part of his film ‘Rocketry-The Nambi Effect’ and was very moved after watching it. The actor, who made his directorial debut with the biopic based on ISRO Scientist Nambi Narayanan’s life, also said that after watching parts of the film PM Modi asked him to get the film dubbed in all UN languages and showcase it world over.

‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a huge fan of Nambi Narayanan. He met Nambi sir even after the success of our Mars mission. He understands the value of Nambi sir and our scientists’, said R Madhavan in the interview.

‘Release delayed after PM Modi’s advice’

‘Prime Minister Modi advised me not to release the film in April because of the impending lockdown back then. I am thankful for his advice, it saved me crores in publicity, said the actor, director and filmmaker.

‘Nobody knew why Nambi sir got Padma Bhushan’

‘Those who knew Nambi si, knew him for the ISRO Spy Scandal and not his tremendous achievements for India. People didn’t even know why Nambi Narayanan was conferred Padma Bhushan – it was for developing the VIKAS engine. I wanted to make a film on his achievements and contribution, not just the spy scandal’, said R Madhavan.

‘Who wanted to push back India by decades?’

Speaking about the conspiracy and the alleged role of a ‘foreign hand’ behind ISRO Spy Scandal, which led to the arrest and torture of ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan, R Madhavan asked ‘who wanted to push India back by decades? We still don’t know who was the mastermind behind the conspiracy against Nambi sir.’
