Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a series of development projects worth Rs 15,700 crore in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The initiatives align with the Prime Minister’s vision of creating modern, world-class infrastructure while preserving the rich history and heritage of Ayodhya.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi inaugurated the redeveloped Ayodhya Railway Station, flagged off new Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat trains, and dedicated various railway projects to the nation. He received a grand welcome upon landing in Ayodhya, with a large number of supporters showering petals at his convoy.

The Prime Minister dedicated projects worth approximately Rs 11,100 crore for the development of Ayodhya and its surrounding areas, along with projects worth around Rs 4,600 crore related to other regions in Uttar Pradesh. These initiatives cover a range of sectors, including infrastructure, tourism, and urban development.

Key projects include the development and beautification of tourist facilities from Naya Ghat to Laxman Ghat, the construction of a visitor gallery for events like Deepotsav, and the strengthening and renovation of the pilgrim path from Ram Ki Paidi to Raj Ghat and Raj Ghat to Ram Temple.

An ambitious greenfield township, valued at over Rs 2,180 crore, and the Vashishtha Kunj Residential Scheme, with an estimated cost of around Rs 300 crore, were also launched, promising a significant boost to Ayodhya’s urban landscape.

The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for infrastructure projects such as the Lucknow-Ayodhya section of NH-28 (the new NH-27), the modification of the existing Ayodhya bypass, the establishment of the CIPET center, and the construction of offices for the Municipal Corporation of Ayodhya and the Ayodhya Development Authority.

Additionally, PM Modi inaugurated the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya, developed by the Airports Authority of India at a cost of over Rs 1,450 crore. The airport’s terminal building, designed to serve about 10 lakh passengers annually, showcases the temple architecture of the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir and features sustainability elements like insulated roofing, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, and more.

The comprehensive development plan aims to enhance connectivity, boost tourism and business activities, and generate new employment opportunities in the region. Ayodhya, considered one of the seven most important pilgrimage sites for Hindus, is witnessing a transformative phase under the vision of Prime Minister Modi, featuring new infrastructure, redeveloped railway stations, widened roads, and civic improvements.
