Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch the maiden journey of the highly anticipated Vande Bharat Express from Dehradun to Delhi via video conferencing on Thursday, as announced by his office. This significant event marks the introduction of the Vande Bharat Express in Uttarakhand, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
In a bid to revolutionise the travel experience, particularly for tourists visiting the state, the Vande Bharat Express is equipped with world-class amenities, offering unparalleled comfort. The PMO expressed confidence that the train’s introduction would usher in a new era of luxurious and convenient travel.
The inaugural run of the Vande Bharat Express is scheduled to commence on May 25 at 11 am, with Prime Minister Modi himself flagging off the train from Dehradun to Delhi. Manufactured entirely in India, this train boasts cutting-edge safety features, including the state-of-the-art Kavach technology, ensuring the highest level of passenger security.
Driven by the Prime Minister’s vision of promoting environmentally friendly public transportation, the Indian Railways has been diligently working towards electrifying rail routes across the country. In line with this commitment, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate the newly electrified rail line sections in Uttarakhand during the same event. This achievement means that the entire rail route in the state will be 100 percent electrified.
The electrification of railway lines will lead to numerous benefits, as mentioned in the official statement.
