Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to launch the Lok Sabha campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Chhattisgarh by speaking at a rally in Bastar on Monday. Chhattisgarh Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap announced that the Prime Minister would inaugurate the Vijay Sankalp Shankhnaad rally from Bastar, specifically addressing a gathering in Aamabal village in Bhanpuri within the Bastar Lok Sabha constituency.
The BJP aims to secure all 11 seats in Chhattisgarh, with a broader national target of 400 seats. The Prime Minister will be accompanied by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishu Deo Sai. The rally in Aamabal village is significant as it falls within the Bastar Lok Sabha constituency, where elections are scheduled for April 19.
The parliamentary elections across the 11 constituencies in Chhattisgarh will occur in three phases on April 19, 26, and May 7, with the vote count set for June 4. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP dominated in Chhattisgarh with 9 seats, while the Indian National Congress (INC) managed only 2 seats.
In the previous 2014 election, the BJP secured 10 seats, leaving only one for the INC.
