Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on a visit to Shree Kala Ram Mandir, located along the banks of the Godavari River in Nashik today. Situated in the Panchavati Area of Nashik, the Shree Kala Ram Mandir holds significance as a part of the Prime Minister’s itinerary.
Panchavati holds a special significance among the locations associated with the Ramayana, as several pivotal events from the epic unfolded here. Lord Ram, Ma Sita, and Lakshman Ji spent a considerable period in the Dandakaranya forest, situated in the Panchavati region. The name “Panchavati” itself signifies the land of 5 banyan trees. Legend has it that Lord Ram chose this area for his abode due to the auspicious presence of these 5 banyan trees.
Prime Minister Modi’s visit to this place, just 10 days before the grand ‘Pran-Pratishtha’ ceremony of the majestic Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, holds significant importance. This significance is attributed to the profound connection Panchavati has with the life of Lord Ram.
The Prime Minister is set to inaugurate and address the 27th National Youth Festival, addressing approximately one lakh participants. The event aims to showcase the strength of the country’s youth, with a pledge by the youth to contribute to India’s development by the centennial year of its independence in 2047.

Youth Clubs will contribute their vibrant energy, ensuring an inclusive celebration, with over 88,000 volunteers participating in the campaign.
Following this, the Prime Minister will travel to Mumbai, where he will inaugurate the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu, the country’s longest and also the longest sea bridge, constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 17,840 crore. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for an underground road tunnel connecting Eastern Freeway’s Orange Gate and launch the Namo Mahila Shashaktikaran Abhiyaan in the state.
The Prime Minister will dedicate phase 1 of the Surya regional bulk drinking water project, developed at a cost exceeding Rs 1,975 crore, providing drinking water supply to Palghar and Thane districts in Maharashtra, benefiting around 14 lakh people.
