On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri’s birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid floral tributes in Rajgath and Vijay Ghat.
PM Modi also shared the pictures of Shastri’s gallery in the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya in Delhi.
Meanwhile, PM Modi paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi on his 153rd birth anniversary and said, “This Gandhi Jayanti is, even more, special because India marks Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Maybe always live up to Bapu’s ideals. I also urge you to purchase Khadi and handicrafts products to tribute Gandhi Ji.”

Taking to Twitter PM Modi also paid tribute to Lal Bahadur Shastri and said, “Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji is admired all across India for his simplicity and decisiveness. His tough leadership at a crucial time in our history will always be remembered. Tributes to him on his Jayanti.”

Moreover, Mahatma Gandhi, or Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi who adopted a non-violent resistance was born on 2 October 1869, in Porbandar town of Gujarat.
However, in 1904 the second Prime Minister of India Lal Bahadur Shastri was born in Uttar Pradesh and on 11 January 1966, he died in Tashkent.
