Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Lucknow on Friday and inaugurated the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023. He opened an exhibition ahead of the summit, which was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The purpose of the mega summit is to bring leading policymakers, industry leaders, academics, and think tanks from around the world onto one platform to collectively unearth new business opportunities in Uttar Pradesh.
After the inauguration, PM Modi said, “I welcome all investors who are participating in this summit.” Currently, Uttar Pradesh has made its name for good governance, peace, law and order, and stability.
“In addition to infrastructure, UP has changed its “society and approach” to create a favourable business environment. The new approach will bring growth to New India. Improvements can be seen in every field, from electricity to connectivity. “The state has been witnessing all-round development,” PM Modi said at the summit.
Overall, a total of 34 sessions are expected to take place, the first ten of which will be held on the opening day and the 13 and 11 sessions on the second and third days, respectively.
Several top leaders and industrialists, such as Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and state Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta, along with industrialists Mukesh Ambani, K Chandrasekaran, Kumar Mangalam Birla, and Anand Mahindra, will address the inaugural session of the summit.
On the second day, a session will be held on “UP is Open for Business Providing New Opportunities for MSMEs and Co-operatives.” Home Minister Amit Shah will be the chief guest, while Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also take part in the session.
On the concluding day, a discussion is on the cards “UP Opportunities in the Excise and Sugar Industry.” Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal is set to participate in this session.
President Droupadi Murmu will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony.
