After Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the Quad Summit in the U.S., Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri emphasized India’s focus on cooperation, engagement, and growth within the Indo-Pacific region. Speaking at a press briefing in New York, Misri highlighted the recognition India received from its Quad partners, which underscores the trust and expectations built through India’s actions.

In the summit, PM Modi coined a phrase for the Quad, describing it as “Quick, Unified Assistance Delivery.” He emphasized the importance of the alliance in a world rife with tensions, noting that the Quad partners, all democratic nations, are crucial for humanity’s progress. Other Quad leaders, including U.S. President Joe Biden, acknowledged India’s role and expressed gratitude for Modi’s leadership.

Bilateral discussions between PM Modi and President Biden further solidified the partnership, particularly around strategic areas like technology and defense cooperation. They also discussed India’s expanding influence in global governance and regional stability. Additionally, major initiatives like the Quad Cancer Moonshot and the Quad Ports of the Future Partnership were key outcomes of the summit, aiming to address global health challenges and develop resilient infrastructure in the Indo-Pacific.

PM Modi also engaged with the Indian diaspora in New York, reaffirming India’s global role and the importance of the Quad in promoting peace and growth.
