During his lengthy daylong visit to Greece, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with his counterpart Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Friday. Along with the two leaders, the meeting included Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis and Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in September 2019, Prime Minister Modi previously met with the Greek Prime Minister in New York.

Earlier, PM Modi called on Greece President Katerina Sakellaropoulou.
The Greek president congratulated PM Modi on the success of India’s moon mission Chandrayaan-3. In response to her congratulatory message, PM Modi said, “The success of Chandrayaan-3 is not only of India alone but it is a success for the whole of humankind… The results of the data collected by the Chandrayaan-3 mission will help the entire scientific fraternity and humankind.”

PM Modi paid respects at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Athens today to mark the start of his trip to Greece. Later, he was presented with a formal guard of honor. After attending the 15th BRICs summit in Johannesburg, PM Modi traveled to Athens this morning for his first visit to Greece at the invitation of his Greek counterpart, Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis greeted PM Modi at the Athens International Airport.
