Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm greetings to people worldwide and the Christian community on Christmas, recalling his meeting with Pope Francis in Vatican City in 2021 as a “very memorable moment.” Addressing the nation, PM Modi expressed joy that people had gathered at his residence on this special and sacred day.

Emphasizing the significance of Christmas, PM Modi highlighted it as a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ and an occasion to reflect on his life’s message and values. He praised Christ’s commitment to kindness, service, and the creation of an inclusive society with justice for all, considering these ideals as guiding lights for India’s development journey.

The Prime Minister shared insights into his meeting with Pope Francis, where they discussed issues such as social harmony, global brotherhood, climate change, and inclusive development, aiming to make the world a better place.

Reflecting on common values among different religions, PM Modi noted the importance of serving others, a concept reflected in the Holy Bible and resonating with the Indian philosophy of ‘Seva Parmo Dharma.’ He also highlighted the emphasis on truth in religious texts and the shared goal of understanding the ultimate truth.
