Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the ruling DMK-led alliance in Tamil Nadu, vowing to continue exposing what he termed as the “decades-old dangerous politics” of the state’s ruling party. Speaking at a rally in Vellore, PM Modi accused the DMK of fostering division among people based on region, religion, and caste, emphasizing that the party thrived on such tactics to secure votes.

He also criticized the DMK over its alleged involvement in drug smuggling in the state, questioning the party’s affiliations and its role in fostering discord among communities. PM Modi pledged to persist in revealing the divisive politics practiced by the DMK.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister targeted the Congress and DMK regarding the Katchatheevu issue, alleging that both parties had kept the state uninformed for years. He accused them of displaying false sympathy over the arrest of fishermen by Sri Lanka near the island, pointing out the contradictions in their actions and statements.

PM Modi highlighted the efforts of the ruling government in repatriating Indian fishermen detained by Sri Lanka, asserting that the NDA government remained committed to their safe return.

The Prime Minister also commended Tamil Nadu for its contributions to the space sector and manufacturing, expressing confidence that the development of the defense corridor would propel the state to greater heights.

In addition, PM Modi spoke about his endeavors to promote the Tamil language, referring to initiatives like the Kashi Tamil Sangamam. He extended invitations to the Tamil community to participate in cultural events in Kashi and Saurashtra, emphasizing the rich cultural exchanges between Gujarat and Tamil Nadu.

Finally, PM Modi sought support for Pattali Makkal Kachi’s Dharmapuri candidate Soumya Anbumani and the New Justice Party’s Vellore candidate AC Shanmugam, who is contesting under the BJP symbol. Tamil Nadu will vote in a single phase on April 19, with the counting of votes scheduled for June 4. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the DMK-led alliance secured a sweeping victory, winning 38 out of 39 seats in Tamil Nadu.
