Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini on Wednesday to congratulate him on leading the BJP to a historic hat-trick of victories in the recent Assembly elections. In a post on X, PM Modi stated, “I met Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini ji and congratulated him on the BJP’s historic victory in the assembly elections. I am confident that Haryana’s role will become increasingly important in the journey toward a developed India.”

Following the meeting, CM Saini credited the election win to PM Modi’s leadership. He remarked, “This huge victory belongs to PM Modi, who has implemented policies and schemes over the last decade that have benefited the poor, farmers, youth, and women. His initiatives cater to every segment of society. This success is a testament to the PM’s policies and the affection the people have for him. I thank the people of Haryana and am grateful to the party workers as well.”

The BJP is set to establish its third consecutive government in Haryana, having won 48 out of the 90 seats in the assembly, while the Congress secured 37 seats.

In a separate address to party workers in Delhi following the election results, PM Modi took a swipe at Congress regarding their complaints and subsequent letter to the Election Commission about the “slowdown in updating results” of the Haryana assembly polls. He accused the opposition party of attempting to undermine every institution.

“Whether it’s the Election Commission, the police, or the judiciary, Congress seeks to tarnish every institution’s reputation. Recall the uproar they caused before the Lok Sabha election results. During the elections, they and their urban Naxalite allies even approached the Supreme Court to damage the Election Commission’s credibility. They’ve done the same again today. Congress has attempted to mislead the public and consistently questions the impartiality of our institutions,” he stated, emphasizing Congress’s pattern of behavior.
