PM Modi committed to real empowerment of women: Duggal

If there is a leader after B.R. Ambedkar who understands the needs and aspirations of women, it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said Sunita Duggal, BJP MP from Sirsa, on the concluding day of the three-day India News Manch 23 political conclave, organised by ITV Network.
For the last so many years, no government has thought about providing sanitary facilities to the rural population, and when PM Modi started Swach Bharat Abhiyan, the opposition leaders laughed at this, but this has empowered women in rural settlements. The other political parties had a preconceived notion about supporting a masculine society.
They thought it’s the men who influence female voters in the house, but the situation is completely different now. Women have been empowered by our government with the launch of schemes such as Ujjwala Yojana, Aayushman Bharat schemes, Jan Dhan Yojana, etc., and they act as silent voters who are even not on the radar of political commentators and vote for us.
This was seen in the recently concluded assembly elections, where the BJP earned a huge electoral mandate in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chattisgarh, where women voters trusted Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Hitting out at SP leader Akhilesh Yadav on women’s empowerment, she said he only empowers his own family, projects his wife as CM, and thinks the welfare of the entire nation’s women has been done.
The same was done by Lalu Prasad Yadav when he appointed his wife Rabri Devi as Bihar C.M., for them giving positions to women from their families is women empowerment, but in the BJP this is not the case as it has given chances for ordinary Karyakarta like me to become Member of Parliament.
Speaking on the Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, Duggal said such programmes are initiated by PM Modi to raise awareness among the common people about the government schemes launched for their welfare. Earlier, the population had to go to government offices for registration in government schemes, but now the benefits are directly transferred into their accounts. This has resulted in transparency in schemes and ensures that the benefits reach everyone.
