Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Poland, marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister in 45 years. Modi landed in Warsaw on the first leg of his two-nation tour, which will also include a visit to Kyiv, Ukraine.
Morarji Desai was the last Indian Prime Minister to visit Poland in 1979. Modi’s visit coincides with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Poland. He emphasized, “Poland is a key economic partner in Central Europe.”
During his stay, Modi is expected to meet with President Andrzej Sebastian Duda and hold bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Donald Tusk. He will travel to Kyiv on August 23 to hold talks with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
