Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic Hathras Stampede incident. He announced financial help for the families of those who died and those who were injured.

Prime Minister Modi declared an ex-gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh for the families of each person who lost their life and Rs 50,000 for those injured in the Hathras stampede. This aid will come from the Prime Minister National Relief Fund (PMNRF).

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) shared this news on social media. They posted: “The Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji has announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased in the mishap in Hathras. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000.”

Additionally, Prime Minister Modi spoke with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, assuring that the government would provide timely assistance to the victims. Senior officials revealed that the deceased included 23 women, three children, and one man. Those who were either deceased or unconscious were taken to medical facilities in Sikandara Rao for further care.

Hathras MP Anoop Pradhan, commented outside Parliament, describing the incident as extremely unfortunate. “I have spoken with our district officer, the district’s legislator, and the superintendent of police. While the exact number is not yet confirmed, many people have tragically died, and many others are injured. They are receiving treatment in nearby hospitals,” Pradhan said.
