Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a significant announcement ahead of the upcoming elections in five states. During his campaign rallies in Durg and Ratlam, he revealed that his government has decided to extend the free ration scheme for the poor for the next five years. This announcement comes as a boost to the BJP’s election campaign.

“I have decided that the BJP government will extend the scheme of providing free ration to 80 crore poor people of the country for the next 5 years. Your affections and blessings give me the power to take such decisions, ” PM Modi said at the election rally in Durg.

Prime Minister Modi attacked the Congress party, accusing them of wanting to keep people in poverty. He emphasized that his government would provide free ration to 80 crore underprivileged individuals for the next five years, stating, “Your affections and blessings give me the power to take such decisions.”

Modi also highlighted the money that the poor would save through this extended scheme, which could be used for other essential needs. He declared this extension as a “guarantee of Modi,” ensuring that the promise would be fulfilled.

Last year, the Central Government had already announced free food grain distribution to over 81 crore people for one year under the National Food Security Act.

Elections in the 90-member Chhattisgarh Assembly are scheduled in two phases, with the first phase set for November 7 and the second on November 17. The counting of votes will occur on December 3, in conjunction with elections in Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Rajasthan, and Telangana.
