As Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about the pandemic and the Ukraine war, he also acknowledged the growing role of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, or SCO, globally on Friday.Stressing the need for increased cooperation among the nations, Prime Minister Modi also said that India is working towards becoming a global manufacturing hub.During the address, he underlined that India is set to see maximum growth in the economy among the biggest economies in the world.The PM said, “Today, as the world is overcoming the pandemic, the role of the SCO is highly critical,” PM Modi said in his address. “The SCO nations, where 40 percent of the world population resides, contribute about 30 percent to the global GDP.”He underlined, “The pandemic and the Ukraine war had created multiple hurdles for the global supply chain. Because of this, the world faced an unprecedented energy and food crisis.”PM Modi stressed, “The SCO should help in bolstering diversified supply chains. For this, not just better connectivity but better transit would be the need of the hour.”
