A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court against calls for boycott and segregation of Muslims in Haryana following the violence in Nuh. In this petition, filed by petitioner Shaheen Abdullah, the issue of hate speech given in Haryana after the Nuh violence has been raised. In this petition, a video related to the yatra taken out by Hindu organisations in Hansi of Hisar district has also been cited. In this video, some people of the one community are warning shopkeepers in the presence of police officers in Hansi market that if they have hired any outsider Muslim, then remove them within two days otherwise they will also be boycotted.
In the petition filed in the Supreme Court, a request has been made to ban the hate speech of such people, who can spread hatred in society. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal briefed Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud about this petition during lunchtime. Citing some examples in front of the CJI, Sibal said that some people in Haryana are threatening those businessmen and shopkeepers that if Muslims are given jobs, they will also be boycotted. Such people are being threatened to be branded as traitors. The video of laughter mentioned in the petition filed in the Supreme Court is from 2 August, two days after the Nuh riots on 31 July.
On that day, a yatra was taken out in the entire market on behalf of some Hindu organizations in Hansi. It warned local shopkeepers not to employ any outsider Muslim. The video related to this threat went viral on social media. After this, on the orders of Hisar SP, a case was registered against 16 people involved in the yatra. In this, the police had registered a case of inciting religious riots against Krishna Gurjar, Parvinder Lohan, Bhupendra Rathod, Vinod and 12 other unknown people. However, after the case was registered and the video went viral, people of Hindu organizations reached Hansi SDM office and expressed regret.

Violence, Action and Demolition

NUH: On 31 July 2023, communal violence broke out in Nuh district of Haryana during the Brajmandal Yatra organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). By the evening of the same day, fresh incidents of communal violence were reported from Gurugram and Sohna. As of 3 August 2023, the condition resulted in at least seven deaths and over 200 injuries. A Muslim mob attacked the procession with stones and bottles during the annual Braj Mandal Yatra in the Muslim-majority district of Nuh. Hindus participating in the procession were forced to flee to a nearby temple, which was later besieged by rioters. Police believe the attack was pre-planned and well-organised. To control the situation, the local administration imposed a curfew, suspended internet services and sent additional security personnel to the area to prevent further spread of violence. After this, with the aim of teaching a lesson to the rioters, the administration started action against illegal encroachments. Hundreds of acres of land were freed from illegal encroachments. Apart from this, the illegal hotel was also demolished from whose roof the people involved in the procession were pelted with stones.
