Tathagata Awatar, an 18-year-old student from Madhubani, Bihar, has secured All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2024 with a perfect score of 720.

As a member of Physics Wallah’s Yakeen NEET 2.0 2024 batch, Tathagat, whose parents are teachers, achieved this remarkable feat after two previous attempts at the exam. In 2023, he scored 611 but was unable to complete the test. To prepare for NEET 2024, he utilized PW’s online classes.

Expressing delight at his success, Tathagat said, “Last year’s score was disappointing for me but I never felt demotivated. I took to preparing at home with Physics Wallah’s (PW) online classes for this year’s NEET. My mother and father are both teachers, but I wanted to do something different and chose medicine. My goal was to prepare for the test as much as I could and be ready for the examination. PW’s classes helped me with an integrated approach building my practice and confidence. And today, I can proudly say that online education can also get your AIR 1.”

Alakh Pandey, Founder and CEO of PW, expressed his joy over NEET UG 2024 results, praising students for fulfilling their dreams of becoming doctors. He emphasized PW’s mission to support students’ aspirations, especially in underserved cities, through quality online education.

Pandey congratulated Tathagat, who achieved AIR 1, along with all students and teachers at PW, and encouraged those who didn’t get their desired results to take inspiration from Tathagat’s perseverance.

Physics Wallah is a leading Indian EdTech company, founded in 2020 and based in Noida. PW democratizes education across India through online, offline, and hybrid modes, reaching 98% of India’s pin codes.

Initially a YouTube channel in 2014, it now offers free quality education to over 4.6 crore students via more than 100 YouTube channels in 5 languages. PW became a Unicorn in 2022, with over 45 lakh paid students and 3 crore app downloads.
